Are you ready for Europe's most extraordinary winter festival? On our Salzburg Krampus Run & Christmas Markets Tour, we spend a romantic winter day in Mozart's fairytale city while witnessing a fascinating, centuries-old Alpine tradition up close!
Our journey begins at 01:00, when we pick up our first guests at the Dortmund stop. We then welcome guests boarding in Essen, Duisburg, Düsseldorf and Cologne, and along the route in Frankfurt, Darmstadt, Mannheim, Karlsruhe and Stuttgart, before heading towards the Austrian border with everyone on board. After a comfortable overnight journey, we stop for a morning rest break on the Munich–Salzburg route. Refreshed and ready for the day, we soon arrive in enchanting Salzburg at the foot of the Alps. Our arrival in Salzburg marks the start of hours full of discovery. During your free time, you can lose yourself among the scents of cinnamon and mulled wine at the historic Salzburg Christkindlmarkt on Cathedral Square (Domplatz), taste Austria's world-famous schnitzel and pick up the famous Mozart chocolates (Mozartkugeln) as souvenirs. If you like, head up to Hohensalzburg Fortress and capture the city's unique panoramic views.
As darkness falls, excitement builds in the city's historic streets. Here, in the cradle of Austria's Alpine culture, the world-famous Salzburg Krampus Run begins! As the historic Getreidegasse and Domplatz ring with the sound of giant bells, hundreds of figures with real horns, shaggy fur and fearsome masks, along with whip-wielding mythical creatures, take over the streets. Watching this eerie yet utterly captivating Alpine tradition from behind the barriers, you'll capture the wildest and most unforgettable videos of your life. These moments, where adrenaline meets culture, will be the unforgettable highlight of our tour. After the excitement of the festival, we meet our coach at the agreed point in the evening and begin our return journey to Germany.
