We meet at our designated pick-up points in the evening or during the night and set off by comfortable coach towards the French border. After a pleasant journey through the small hours we reach Colmar, our first stop – a town that feels like an open-air museum.
On our guided walk through Colmar you will feel as though you have stepped into a medieval fairy tale. Be ready to lose yourself among the colourful Alsatian half-timbered houses of the 13th and 14th centuries and the maze of narrow lanes. The highlights of our walk: Petite Venise (Little Venice): the most photogenic quarter of the town, with flower-filled balconies lining the river. Bartholdi Museum: the birthplace of Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi, creator of the Statue of Liberty. Musée Unterlinden: the region's most distinguished art museum, set in a former Dominican convent. After the walking tour you have free time to discover local cafés, browse the charming shops and enjoy Colmar's singular atmosphere.
In the afternoon we turn onto the world-famous Alsace Wine Route (Route des Vins d'Alsace), lined with endless vineyards. After a scenic drive we arrive in Riquewihr, considered the best-preserved and loveliest village in the region. Walking with our guide through the lanes of this walled village, you can capture wonderful photographs and taste local Alsatian specialities.
With unforgettable images and fine memories, we gather in the evening and begin the journey home. We reach our starting points late at night and say our goodbyes – until the next tour.
