Itinerary

1. Day 1

   The Journey Begins

   Our journey starts from the designated departure points in Germany aboard the modern, fully equipped coaches of Big Bus Europa. Accompanied by our professional drivers and our experienced team, we travel overnight towards the heart of the Balkans on a journey in which every detail has been designed around your comfort and your safety.

2. Day 2

   Sarajevo

   We arrive in Sarajevo and begin the day with the region's best-known speciality: the famous Bosnian börek. After breakfast, our professional guide takes us to the historic Tunnel of Hope. We then check in at our hotel for a short rest before continuing our Sarajevo city tour. Together with our guide we visit the grave of Alija Izetbegović, the founding president of Bosnia, and the Kovači Martyrs' Cemetery; the White Bastion with its view over the whole city; the historic Baščaršija; the Ottoman-era Gazi Husrev-beg Mosque and Madrasa; the Clock Tower; the covered bazaar Bezistan; and the elegant Baščaršija Mosque and Emperor's Mosque. Our tour continues to the Latin Bridge, where the First World War began, and to the National Library (Vijećnica), risen once more from its own ashes. Dinner: at our hotel or a selected restaurant (included in the price).

3. Day 3

   Mostar, a Natural Wonder

   After breakfast at our hotel we set off for Mostar. Guided by our professional guide, we spend the day visiting the historic Konjic Bridge rising over the River Neretva, the Turkish village of Počitelj, famous for the stone houses that make you feel part of an enchanting medieval tale, and the peaceful Blagaj (Sarı Saltuk) Tekke at the source of the River Buna. In the centre of Mostar we then visit the magnificent Old Bridge, a shared heritage of humankind, the Karađoz-beg Mosque and Madrasa, and the Koski Mehmed Pasha Mosque with its unrivalled view over the river. The day closes with free time for photographs and for shopping in the old bazaar.

4. Day 4

   Travnik, the City of Viziers, and Fojnica

   After the buffet breakfast at our hotel, we set out to discover the hidden treasures of Bosnia. With our expert guide we visit the Fojnica Culture Museum, home to documents of priceless value for Islamic history; the memorial and martyrs' cemetery of the village of Ahmići, which carries the painful memories of 1993; and, in Travnik — the city that produced dozens of statesmen in Ottoman times — the Elči Ibrahim-paša Madrasa and the Šarena (Colourful) Mosque with its magnificent architecture. We then visit the historic tombs of the Ottoman viziers and the martyrs' cemeteries where fallen soldiers from Türkiye also rest, before rounding off our day at Travnik Fortress with its striking panoramic view. 5. Days 5–6

   Free Time in Sarajevo and the Return to Germany

   After breakfast at our hotel, the centre of Sarajevo is entirely yours: time to buy gifts for your loved ones, to taste the famous flavours of the Balkans or simply to explore on your own. We meet again at the time announced by our team, take our seats aboard the high-comfort Big Bus Europa coach and, with our professional drivers, begin a relaxed and safe journey back to Germany. After the necessary comfort and refreshment stops along the way, we reach our starting point in Germany in the morning hours.
